The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted our dependence on broadband throughout our society, from education to entertainment, governance to emergency response. At the same time, this crisis underscores continued disparities in access, with poor and rural Americans on the far side of a widening digital divide and unable to participate in a work- and school-from-home economy.
This webinar will assess the lessons of the pandemic, learnings from the 2010 Broadband Plan, and insights from European approaches to universal broadband access, to inform a major new effort to upgrade the U.S. digital infrastructure and bridge the digital divide.
